Blog 2

The article I chose to read was about Shannon Stone, who was a 39 year old firefighter.  He attended a Texas Rangers baseball game with his son.  However it did not turn out to be a fun filled day as they had hoped.  In the second inning, Josh Hamilton, one of the Rangers outfielders heard a kid yell for a ball as a souvenir.  Well in the tradition, Hamilton tossed it in the stands.  The boy’s father, Stone reached for the ball but ended up falling over the rail 20ft to the ground.  He was rushed to the hospital where they announced that he died of blunt force trauma. Both teams have made donations to the Stone family and a moment of silence was given before their game on Friday.  He was laid to rest on Monday July 11.
The people that will find this article most useful would be baseball fans or someone interested in tragic stories.
It’s just a sad article to read about. All he was doing was trying to catch a ball for his son.  It shows us how fragile life can be at times.  We just need to keep the Stone’s family in our prayers.
